My name is Bev and on Dec. 6, 2007 I was diagnosed with Stage IV endometrial stromal sarcoma and the sarcoma had moved between my lungs metastasized. The surgeons told my husband Jeff that cancer had invaded several of my abdominal organs, including my colon and that hundreds of cancer seedlings were in my abdomen which were too small to remove and eventually they would grow into tumors. The oncologist gave me about 1 year to live. I attended the healing service at Heart House in January and went forward for prayer. I left the church feeling calm and confident. On Feb. 14, 2008 I had another surgery and the surgeon couldn't find any cancer seedlings anywhere. He was able to remove all the cancerous organs and told me I would have to start chemo to reduce the size of the mass that was left between my lungs. I was dreading the sickness from the chemo and the trips to Orlando for treatments. We continued to pray and at the next visit the doctor told us I would not have to have chemo. He then patted my hand, smiled, and said “You will live for many, many years.” We are so happy that God listens to prayers and pays absolutely no attention to statistics! |
